Our tailgating group began at the start of the 2004 Redskins season. While the original tailgates included just a few close friends, it has grown over the years, and today it is not uncommon to have 75-100 tailgaters joining us. In addition to tailgating at FedEx Field (G20) for all Redskins home games, the group will also attend Washington Nationals games (Lot W), country concerts at Jiffy Lube Live (formerly Nissan Pavilion), and other selective events, such as the annual Eagle Bank Bowl.

We promote safe tailgating, such as ensuring that all guests who drink alcohol are over the age of 21, and that there are always enough designated drivers to get all guests home safe.

Update on Baseball Tailgates

When the Nationals announced they were no longer offered the Nats Express from the RFK lots, thus eliminating the tailgating option, I figured that would be the end of going to Nats games for me (I would rather drive the extra 10 minutes and watch the Orioles).  After speaking with a Nationals representative on the phone, they will allow tailgating in Lot W this year, which is only 3 blocks further away from where the buses dropped us off in years past.  While not free ($10 per car), we can avoid the long lines for the shuttle and still experience summer tailgates and concerts in DC.

Caps Clinch Eastern Conference Regular Season

With the New Jersey Devils loss this evening, the Capitals clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for the first time in the franchise's 35-year history, ensuring home ice for the first three rounds of the playoffs. This is the first time a DC team from the 4 main sports leagues has won a regular season conference title since the 1991 Redskins, and we all know how that turned out. LETS GO CAPS!

Nats Express Eliminated

Since Nationals Park opening in the spring of 2008, fans have been able to park for free at RFK stadium, and take the free Nats Express Shuttle to Nationals Park for the game.  While many fans are excited about the prospect of parking and walking to the stadium, none of the lots allow for tailgating.  It has been a summer tradition for us to tailgate for Nationals games, but this seems to be up in the air now.  We will let everyone know of upcoming plans for Nats games, at this point our group will not be able to set up for games this summer.  DC United will still be playing at RFK, and our group looks forward to our first DC United Tailgate.

Jimmy Buffett Concerts - September 2nd and 4th

The concert dates for Jimmy Buffett 2010 has finally been announced for our area.  As he has done in years past, Buffett will play 2 shows, a the Thursday and Saturday before Labor Day.  Our group will be tailgating on Saturday, September 4th, probably around 10am for an 8pm concert (seriously, its Buffett).

Tickets go on sale at 10am this Friday, February 19th.  If you are able to log in and get tickets, please buy the maximum lawn tickets allowed (usually 6).  This will allow our group access to as many tickets as possible.  Our goal is to have 25 or more tickets to the show.
